Literary Awards: Newberry Medal 1963, Sequoyah Book Award 1965. Reading this book is a good imagination workout. I love its mysticism. The fantasy elements, time and space travel. When L'Engle writes about 'the dark thing', I can actually feel its seeping darkness. I also loved Mrs. Who's quotes.
I recommend this to any teenage readers. As an adult, it felt like being a child again. Mesmerized by magical beings & endless possibilities in outer space.
